Meet Bhekinkosi Tsotetsi, a 21-year-old visionary hailing from the quaint town of Manzini Chochocho in Nelspruit. A self-made philanthropist, Bheki is driven by a fervent belief in the power of self-transformation, empowerment, and community development.

After completing his matric in 2021, he embarked on a transformative gap year, a time of deep reflection on his life's purpose. The challenges he faced during his school years left a profound impact on him, igniting a passionate commitment to ensure that no child endures similar hardships.

This unwavering resolve gave birth to the Blaq Child Foundation, an inspiring initiative dedicated to nurturing and empowering young minds. Through this organization, Bhekistrives to uplift the next generation, guiding them toward brighter futures and reminding them that change begins within.

Growing up, Tsotetsi faced a lot of challenges that threatened to derail his dreams. However, he persevered and emerged stronger. Recognizing the need for support and guidance, Bheki established Blaq Child foundation 2018. The organization’s mission is to provide essential needs, resources and opportunities and care to vulnerable children in his community. They also provide educational support to school kids who are need of help.

Through Blaq Child Foundation, he offers a holistic approach in empowering youth. His initiative includes distributing sanitary pads to underprivilged female students , hosting talents shows which is called Optimize your Talent and visiting orphanges to spread joy and sense of belonging and providing educational support .This educational support encncompasses tutoring ,mentorship and access to vital educational resources via Blaq Child , bridging the gap for those struggling academically

Tsotetsi shared that he started the Blaq Child Foundation due to the lack of academic support he experienced during his own schooling. He expressed his desire to bring about change for other children in his community, ensuring that they have access to the necessary resources for their education. He mentioned that whether it’s data or assistance with schoolwork, Blaq Child is there to sponsor and support them. Bheki also emphasized the importance of internal effective communication, which he believes can empower children to speak out. His dedication has already begun to yield positive results, as many young lives have been positively impacted by his organization.

Through my lens

I am a whole made storyteller long before I even picked up a camera. Whether I am standing in the side of the road capturing moments or in front of a crowd or sitting behind a notebook/computer shaping a story, my purpose has always been the same, to observe, to understand  and to tell the truth beautifully so. Photo by: Cecelia Mogashoa As a media practitioner /journalist, that's the only beautiful ways to put it, I am building my career rooted in curiosity, creativity and courage off course. I strongly believe that stories have power to shift perspectives, spark conversations and bring people closer to their realities and those realities that they never personally experienced. Through photography, writing and content creation and digital media, I want to document life as it is, raw, honest and full of meaning. This blog is my space to share, grow and experiment my world. It is where my passion for visuals meets my love for words. It's where I explore the people, culture, ch...
